Udinese defeated a stubborn Pescara at the Stadio Communale Friuli in Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

The Zebrette began the game passing the ball well and Pescara were seemingly happy to sit deep and keep the home side at bay.

However it was the visitors who came closest to taking the game by the scruff of the neck as Udinese’s Danilo hurled down Juan Fernando Quintero on the edge of the box. Danilo, perhaps harshly, was shown his second yellow and exited the pitch leaving Francesco Guidolin’s side down to ten men. Quintero lashed the resulting free kick off the bar.

There would be further frustration for Udinese as Antonio Di Natalie crept round the back of the Pescara defence to tap the ball home from a flicked on free kick only to be given offside. The half ended goalless.

Udinese frustrations did not last for long as eight minutes into the second half after some great work down the flank from Pablo Armero, Maicosuel was on hand to tap the ball home and hand his side a deserved lead.

The ten man Udinese side managed to hold on to their lead and take all three points from this encounter.
