Inter are weighing up a possible move for Udinese defender Dusan Basta as they continue to look to strengthen defensively.

The Nerazzurri are still looking for a replacement for departed full-back Douglas Maicon and believe the Serbian fits the bill.

They were already looking to bring fresh faces in during January with Chievo defender Marco Andreolli likely to return to San Siro.

The 28-year-old Basta will be pricier than Andreolli, whose contract expires this summer, as he is on a deal until 2016.

However, it is believed that €8m could be enough to entice the Friuliani into selling one of their star defenders.

Basta has made three Serie A starts this season, including claiming a wonder goal against Siena.
