Christian Abbiati’s tenure at Milan seems to come to an end this summer according to reports in the media.
The shot-stopper’s contract is expiring in the summer and the Rossoneri are not keen in offering him an extension.
It is being reported Milan are tracking Atalanta’s Andrea Consigli and Genoa-owned Mattia Perin as possible replacements, as they want a younger replacement for Abbiati.
Abbiati joined Milan in 1998, and has also spent time out on loan to Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Torino. The veteran keeper has won a host of major trophies including the 2010–11 Serie A title which he played a crucial role in.
His performances of late however has been poor with many blunders and costly mistakes, most notably against Napoli this season.
