Juventus lost to hated rivals Inter on Saturday, a match that ended their 49 game unbeaten run in the Serie A, but Alessio was happy with the response his players showed on the pitch.

“We wanted to see the squad play with a certain level of intensity and the boys played with anger and determination from the moment they entered the field of play.”

“We scored four goals but that could have been an even greater number. Now we must look to earn a place in the next round and to do that we must win our next match against Chelsea.”

“Tonight saw our hunger to pressure the opponent return, along with taking control of the match from the first minute of play.

The under pressure Juve strikeforce performed well according to Alessio, though he did have one regret.

“Giovinco played very well, we know that he has quality. It’s a shame Matri didn’t get a goal, but he too played well.”

“[Antonio] Conte chooses the strikers game by game, based in part on the characteristics of our opponents. The important thing is for each of them to be ready, just as Fabio Quagliarella was tonight.”
