AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has urged fans to give him time as he looks to turn results around this season.

The Rossoneri have had one of their worst starts to a campaign in over 80 years but the 45-year-old is confident he can transform their fortunes if given the time.

“No team is built in two months,” he told the press.

“I knew it was going to take time, I was just hoping that results would go our way and that luck was going to be on our side, which unfortunately did not happen. Give me your patience and at the end of the year Milan will be very competitive, I am sure of that.

“We had to start over again with young players and we showed that there are some excellent youngsters in Italy.

“We have [Stephan] El Shaarawy and [Mattia] De Sciglio. Bojan [Krkic] can even play as an out-and-out striker, he has been schooled very well at Barcelona. Physically we are very strong and our confidence is slowly building up.”
