Atalanta midfielder Luca Cigarini stated that if it were up to him, he would like to play in the German Bundesliga.
The 26-year-old has impressed this season for the surprising Orobici, garnering interest from some of the Serie A’s top clubs but the Reggio Emilia native has other plans for his future.
“My future? I would like to play in the German league since my idol [Bastian] Schweinsteiger plays there,” he told Sky Sport 24.
“They have fantastic stadiums, like the ones that Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have. I have played there once and wish to play there again.”
This is Cigarini’s second stint with La Dea after playing for them in the 2008/09 seasons. He has also spent time with Parma, Napoli and Sevilla.
