Parma coach Roberto Donadoni does not believe that the absence of Antonio Cassano will be any hindrance to Inter this weekend.

His Ducali side take on the Nerazzurri on Monday night with the former Real Madrid man suspended, something that will not be a major problem according to the man in charge at the Ennio Tardini.

He said: “We must work on our own quality for this game. We need to show we can compete with an opponent of this type.

“We face an opponent with high technical skills and who play at a very high-tempo and have players who can make a great impact and it will be a tough physical game because of this.

“The absence of Cassano though? That will not matter because they are strong whether Cassano plays or not and will have alternatives.”

The ex-Azzurri boss is also sweating over the fitness of some of his players who he hopes will be able to take to the field during that game.

“Jaime Valdes has worked hard to be fit while the team have rested,” said Donadoni. “The same can be said for Cristian Zaccardo and Fabiano Santacroce and they have all made small steps.

“We will evaluate their fitness each day and hope that they can be fit. The situation is definitely much better than it was a few days ago though.”
