Walter Mazzarri was left a very happy man following his side’s 1-0 win victory over Cagliari at the Is Arenas tonight.

The Napoli coach saw his side struggle for much of the game before Marek Hamsik popped up with the crucial second half goal that moves them to within just two points of leaders Juventus.

He said afterwards: “I knew during the game that we must get the first goal and we did that so in the end I am satisfied with my players’ performance tonight.

“I could not ask for anything better from this group and I am proud to coach them.”

However, despite clawing back the deficit at the top of the table, the former Sampdoria coach will only look at one game at a time.

“Tonight was a good win but already we must move on,” said Mazzarri. “Now we must concentrate on the game against Pescara.”
