Reports out of Italy say that Napoli and Roma are currently negotiating for the services of Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang.

Sky Sport Italia had the report concerning the Partenopei and the Giallorossi, and it would seem a move to either club is all but a certainty during January’s upcoming transfer window. The young Spaniard will likely draw in the neighborhood of €4 Million.

Roma seem to have the edge at this point as Sky also reported that Sampdoria’s Sporting Director Pasquale Sensibile was seen at Stadio Olimpico Monday night for additional talks about Obiang during Roma’s 2-0 win over Torino.

The 20 year-old could provide quite a bit of added support for either of these two stout clubs. He has one assist in 10 domestic appearances for Sampdoria this season.

The implications, as they always are concerning transfers, are large. Roma is in 6th place, while Napoli is in 4th place. Sampdoria is now in 14th place after a strong 3-1 win over Genoa last week.
