Joining Dov Schiavone this week on the Italian Football Fancast is Sam Lewis, Clark Stupple and Marco Rinaldi.
It was the Derby della Lanterna which took centre stage this weekend in Serie A, as two of the country’s poorest sides went toe-to-toe. Sampdoria and Genoa had both been on long losing streaks prior to the game, but it was Ciro Ferrara’s when who took the plaudits in an enthralling match.
Catenaccio found a new lease of life in the Juventus Stadium on Saturday as Lazio frustrated the home side as well as many Calcio observers with their seemingly negative tactics. But is this criticism justified? Should Vladimir Petkovic set his side up in a more adventurous way? Or were Juventus just hopeless infront of goal.
Meanwhile, AC Milan produced a mammoth comeback at the Stadio San Paolo against Napoli, and arguably their best performance of the season. Is this the long awaited corner for Massimiliano Allegri’s men? Or are Napoli just a naive side that can’t finish teams off when they have the chance?
Elsewhere, Fiorentina strutted their way to a magnificent win over Atalanta and to help us delve into La Viola’s winning ways we have none other than Mr Giancarlo Rinaldi to help us examine the reasons behind the resurgence in Florence.
All this and a whole lot more will be answered in this weeks show, plus we have Kevin Tarbuck who will bring us all up-to-date on the happenings in Serie B.
