In his second year as an Roma player, Argentine phenomenon Erik Lamela is one goal away from overtaking some of the best in the club’s history, including Francesco Totti.

Lamela has scored goals in each of Roma’s last five games, a record shared with current captain, Totti, and past greats Abel Balbo and Enrique Guaita.

If Lamela scores against Lazio this Sunday in the Derby della Capitale, he will be one away from the all-time club record holder, Rodolfo Volk, who once scored in seven consecutive Serie A matches for the club.

No doubt Lamela will try to impress on the big stage this weekend – he has already shown his recognition of the match’s traditional grandeur by wearing special shoes given to him by Lionel Messi as a token of good luck in last year’s match with Lazio.

At only 20 years of age, with four years left on his current contract, Lamela is poised to become a major star in the Italian league and has already put himself in a position to contend with the legends.
