Inter defender Matias Silvestre has admitted that he is looking forward to the prospect of getting some more playing time in the Milan based squad.

Silvestre is on loan from Palermo, and has only played in three matches since the switch to Inter.

However, due to Inter’s recent injury crisis, they will be missing Cristian Chivu, Walter Samuel, and Andrea Ranocchia for the next three weeks.  This should open the door for the Argentine, who is happy to get some regular match time.

“It’s not easy to play every once and a while,” he said.

“Now, I want to take advantage of the opportunity given to me to get some regular time on the pitch.

“I’ve had a few chances to play recently, but with the squad playing well at the moment, it is only right that they should continue along the same path.

“The manager decides these things, but I am always ready to play when called upon.  I have shown that I can respond, and I’m happy to have this chance.”

Silvestre could see some time in Inter’s Europa League tie with Partizan Belgrade on Thursday, and he was asked about the opponents.

“Partizan is a very technical squad with good young players.  It is not right to talk about just one of them, so we need to all be concentrated on stopping them.”
