Zdenek Zeman is happy to return to his former club Pescara despite being the “enemy” for Sunday’s clash at the Adriatico.

Zeman brought Pescara to promotion from Serie B last season after finishing first, but quit after receiving an offer from the Giallorossi.

“I am happy to return to Pescara, even as an ‘enemy’. I have many positive memories here and they go beyond just sporting results. We’ll have to see how I am welcomed,” he said at his pre-match press conference.

The Delfini will be making their debut tomorrow under new tactician Cristiano Bergodi after Giovanni Stroppa resigned after last Sunday’s defeat against Siena.

“Pescara can still achieve safety. I hope the change in managers helps them not only for tomorrow. I worked with Bergodi as a player. He is a serious and calm individual who achieved great results in Romania with Cluj.”

“Don’t forget that last season people said Pescara would be fighting to avoid relegation to Lega Pro, but instead we won the league with more than 90 goals scored.”

“They changed a lot over the summer, which is why they still haven’t found their tactical identity, but I am still worried about facing them.”

Roma have been inconsistent thus far under Zeman, but the coach believes that results will soon match the squad’s performance on the pitch.

“I am happy with the performances, but not the results. Apart from the game with Juventus the team always played better than their opponents.”

“Results have gone against us due to our own mistakes. Our best performance was against AC Milan, even though we lost.”

“Could we have done with David Pizarro? There have been many great players at Roma. We could probably do with Gabriel Batistuta too but we have decided to focus on a project with young players.”

Finally, Zeman was asked about the anti-Semitic attack on Tottenham fans this week, as the  two arrests were identified as Roma ultras.

“I don’t want to talk about it because it has nothing to do with football.”
