AC Milan defeated Pescara 4-1 at the San Siro on Sunday afternoon in Serie A, on the 113th anniversary of their founding.

The Rossoneri proved too strong for the newly-promoted Pescara, as they demonstrated a merciless display of attacking football to end the year on a high note.

Less than a minute into the game, the ball went forward to Stephan El Shaarawy who passed across the face of goal to allow Antonio Nocerino to score from close range.

Pescara had their first effort on goal in the eighth minute with a long shot by Eugenio Romolo Togni which Marco Amelia blocked behind for a corner.

In the 26th minute, Robinho lofted the ball in from a free kick which Giampaolo Pazzini finished perfectly, but the referee hadn’t blown his whistle and the goal was disallowed.

Milan looked dominant in the first half, but didn’t make the most of Pescara’s poor defense, as they opted to take long shots.

The first chance of the second half came to Pescara, as Birkir Bjarnason had a free header saved by Amelia.

Eugenio Romolo Togni picked up the second yellow card of the game for a tackle on El Shaarawy.

In the fiftieth minute, Robinho’s cross was headed by Elvis Abbrsucato into his own net, putting the Rossoneri two goals ahead.

Mario Yepes picked up a yellow card in the 55th minute for a collision.

From the corresponding free kick, Pescara pulled a goal back, the goalscorer Christian Terlizzi.

Pescara nearly made it two, with a driven shot from Antonio Blazano that came of the woodwork much to the relief of Amelia.

The Delfini continued to pile on the pressure as Milan seemed to have run out of ideas in the final third.

Massimo Ambrosini picked up a yellow card in the 73rd minute out of sheer frustration and harassing Jonathas.

In the 79th minute, a corner proved too difficult for Pescara, as yet another own-goal was scored, this time by Jonathas.

A minute later, Pazzini pushed forward and passed the ball across to El Shaarawy who scored his 14th goal of the season.

Immediately after the goal, Pazzini was replaced by M’Baye Niang, and shortly after El Shaarawy was replaced by Sulley Muntari.

The Rossoneri saw out the rest of the game, ensuring a win on the club’s 113th birthday.
