AC Milan are counting on bringing in a midfielder in January.

With Nigel de Jong set to miss the remainder of the season with injury, and Sulley Muntari set to miss a chunk of the second half playing in the African Cup of Nations, the Rossoneri will be trying to find a replacement as soon as possible.

One of the names said to be on Adriano Galliani’s list is Paris St Germain man Mohamed Sissoko.

The 27-year-old announced earlier this year that he was taking himself out of the African Cup of Nations, effectively announcing his international retirement, so his availability during the winter is attractive.

Questions remain about Sissoko’s ability to replace de Jong, however, as he doesn’t play much as it is, and he is prone to injury.

The former Juventus player has only appeared in three league matches with the French outfit this season.

His contract is set to expire in June of 2014.
