Parma battled back from a goal down against Bologna in the Romagna derby at the Dall’Ara in their Serie A meeting on Saturday afternoon by picking up a 2-1 win.

Frederik Sorensen had put Stefano Pioli’s side ahead after the restart before a Jaime Valdes wonder goal and Nicola Sansone’s strike won the Ducali the points.

With the Rossoblu perhaps more in need of the win as they are sitting uncomfortably close to the drop zone, they failed to muster any real chances of note in the first half.

Both sets of sides may have already had their eye on their upcoming Christmas celebrations as Jonathan Biabiany and Manolo Gabbiadini conjured the only real chances of the opening 45 minutes but neither put the other side in real danger of going behind.

However, the game suddenly sparked into life in three second half minutes though.

First, Sorensen put the home side ahead from close range with a scrappy goal after the ball had bobbled around inside the penalty area.

That lead lasted just three minutes though before Valdes equalised with a wonderful curling effort from distance that bent into the corner.

Not long after that, the turnaround was complete when Massimo Gobbi crossed for the in-form Sansone who volleyed home emphatically.
