Siena have appointed Giuseppe Iachini as their new coach after sacking Serse Cosmi on Sunday.
The Robur lost 4-1 to Tuscan rivals Fiorentina on Sunday afternoon and not long after Cosmi was given the boot.
“I took the decision to change Coach after the defeat in Florence because I firmly believe in my players and our chances of staying up,” Siena president Massimo Mezzaroma said.
On his appointment Iachini told the press, “I’m accustomed to doing my talking on the pitch.
“I’ll give my best and all of my enthusiasm in order to achieve safety.
“I thank the club for their faith in me. We’ll look to add a building block to our survival plans on a daily basis.”
Siena currently sit bottom of Serie A.
