Torino have started to plan for the winter transfer window and it looks increasingly likely that Rolando Bianchi will stay at the club. Moreover they are also seeking to bring in reinforcements to play with him, claim La Stampa.

The Granata, who have already drawn eight games this season, have sorely lacked firepower. This is something that they are looking to rectify in January with captain Bianchi, who scored for the second game in a row at the weekend, remaining vociferous in his loyalty to the club – claiming their lack of a statement was a ‘deafening silence that hurt his soul’. It is, of course, still possible he will leave in January but the player’s indication is that he would like to stay.

One player who looks certain to be on his way out of Torino is Gianluca Sansone; the summer signing has made very little impact, contributing only one goal in his three starts and being mainly used from the bench. Bologna have expressed an interest in Sansone, and if Robert Acquafresca was allowed to move the opposite way, a deal could be struck.  The Torino-born forward has featured only four times for Bologna this season and it might be that Sansone is a makeweight in any potential deal.

It is more likely however, that Sansone will find himself as part of a swap deal at Sampdoria. The Genovese club look set to offload Nicola Pozzi and Torino are the favoured suitors for the former Under 21 international striker.

A further possible addition to Giampiero Ventura’s squad is Adam Ljajic of Fiorentina. Already linked with Torino in pre-season, he remains out of favour in Florence and a switch is possible.

Before any signings are made however, the squad will take their winter break in Dubrovnik – spending the New Year in Croatia before returning to resume their relegation battle; most likely with a few new faces amongst them.
