David Trezeguet has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to return to Juventus in the summer.
The 35-year-old striker, who currently plays for River Plate in Argentina, claimed that the Bianconeri contacted him to become a potential replacement for Alessandro Del Piero.
Trezeguet told Fox Sports: “I received an offer to speak to Juventus management, but I decided to stay in Argentina.”
“My goal is to win with River Plate,” he added.
The veteran striker scored 158 goals in 287 matches for Juventus between 1999-2010 and won two Serie A and one Serie B title.
Trezeguet has made ten appearances this season, scoring one goal.
