Bologna striker Robert Acquafresca has headed to Spain on loan, joining Levante with an option for a permanent move at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has played for numerous Serie A clubs, but has yet to show the potential which saw him score 11 times in 18 appearances for the Italy U21s.

He has made just three starts for Bologna this season, and is yet to score a goal. He enjoyed his best season at Cagliari in 2008-09 when he netted 14 league goals, but he is yet to recover his best form.

He has played a total of 38 league games for the Emilians, scoring five times in total.
