AS Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg could be a January transfer target for Real Madrid according to reports in the Spanish media.

Stekelenburg is in hot water with the Giallorossi after publicly criticizing Manager Zdenek Zeman after being left out of the side following an injury, which has also prompted interest from Fulham and AC Milan.

The Dutch international is being linked to the La Liga Champions by Madrid-based newspaper AS following rumours that Manager Jose Mourinho has had a spat with current goalkeeper Ilker Casillas.

To make things worse for Real there is also talk that Casillas may have broken a bone in his hand as well and could miss their crucial Champions League tie with Manchester United.

Let him go. Roma have not seen the world class goalkeeping from him his price tag demands. The injury is irrelevant.
