Former AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko could take to the pitch once again having only retired last summer.

The Ukrainian international bowed out of football following his country’s elimination from the European Championships.

Now though Shevchenko has been offered the chance to play for Indonesian Super League club Mitra Kukar F.C according to club manager Roni Fauzan.

“Obviously we are interested in Shevchenko,” Fauzan told reporters. “We are in negotiations, but we have to continue to talk about economics.”

“We would like to sign him for 10 games. Regarding a salary – I’m sure we can find the money to bring him here.”

The 36 year-old goalscorer is greatly admired in Indonesia as there is a strong Milan fan base in the country.
