Juventus assistant coach Angelo Alessio believes the Bianconeri were never in danger of losing points as they took home a 2-1 victory over Chievo on Sunday.

Alessio was behind the bench as Antonio Conte serves a touchline ban, but Juventus got back to their winning ways thanks to goals from Alessandro Matri and Stephan Lichtsteiner.

“We always had the match in our hands,” he told Sky Sport.

“We scored two goals in the first half but we could have had more. We didn’t control the match in the first ten minutes of the second half, but we did well after.”

“It can happen that you concede a goal on the only shot on goal. We always had the match in our hands and it was important to get the three points.”

“We are calm, we have always played as well as we can. Now we must continue on our path, knowing that is a more difficult path than last year. Napoli are our strongest rivals and they improved in January. However we are sure of our own strengths.”
