Fiorentina’s approach to Feyenoord in an attempt to sign midfielder Jordy Clasie has hit a bump after they were told their offer was not good enough, La Nazione reports.

The Viola are big fans of the Netherlands international, who is also believed to be open to a move to the Artemio Franchi, but have been told that a €5m offer is too low.

They were looking to start negotiations as soon as possible about signing him next season as many clubs are interested in him.

Vincenzo Montella is also a fan of the youngster and he has already spoken about how he believes Clasie would be a perfect substitute for David Pizarro.

The ball is now in Daniele Prade’s court over the transfer although the Italian giants are adamant that they do not want to pay any more than €5m for the midfielder.

They face very real competition from Russia though with Zenit St Petersburg looking seriously at him while Fiorentina are also hoping to fight Inter for the signature of former Bologna man Gaston Ramirez.
