Reports today on InterLive are suggesting that the club could be set to end their association with sporting director Marco Branca.

He has been involved with the club for over a decade now and is one of the few remaining members of the treble winning staff but his position has now come under threat.

This is believed to have started with the saga surrounding Diego Forlan last year in which he was signed but unable to play in the Champions League group stages, something which frustrated both fans and the club hierarchy.

Branca has been put in a further bad light this week after the deal to sign John Carew fell through and this has led to further speculation that he may not be at the club next season.

Massimo Moratti is also thought to have contacted replacements to feel them out as to whether or not they would be interested in taking over this role.

The first of those men is Pietro Lo Monaco who is currently unattached after his surprise release from Palermo while the other name who the Inter president is intrigued by is Pierpaolo Marino, both of whom are used to working with limited financial resources.
