Juventus forward Nicolas Anelka has revealed his goals during his five month loan in Turin, claiming that he has European glory in sight.

The Frenchman signed for The Old Lady in January from Shanghai Shenhua, and already has a Champions League victory, but that isn’t stopping the 33-year-old.

“One of the reasons I joined Juve is because I believe we have the quality to win the Champions League this season,” said Anelka to the Daily Record.

“It’s been 13 years since I won the trophy with Real Madrid and it’s a dream of mine to add one more before I retire.”

The Bianconeri face Celtic in Glasgow on Tuesday, but the former Arsenal and Chelsea striker is wary of the threat they pose.

“It’ll be a tough match in Glasgow. It’s one of the most intense footballing cities in the world,” he added.

“Their players and fans have been hungry for this moment, they’ll be ready for this.

“But from my first training session with Juventus it was clear there is the quality of player and determination to win the competition.”

It’ll be the first appearance in the knockout stages for the Scudetto holders since 2009, while the Bhoys are in the round of sixteen for the first time since 2008.
