The pressure will be on Brendan Rodgers as reports from the Sunday Mirror indicate star striker Luis Suarez may be on his way out of Anfield.

The 26-year-old striker moved to the Merseyside club in 2011, and has since gone on to galvanize the squad, being the standout performer during recent lean years.

But reports that the Uruguayan may be interested in leaving Liverpool, who are facing a fourth consecutive year without Champions League football – a burgeoning partnership with January signing Daniel Sturridge seemingly not enough to secure a fourth place spot.

League champions Juventus are reportedly interested in Suarez, and are said to be putting out feelers as to the striker’s availability.  Liverpool are unlikely to want to sell, but without the draw of the Champions League they will have little in the way of keeping their star man happy at the club.

Suarez’s time at Liverpool has not been without controversy, as last year’s racial abuse incident with Manchester United defender Patrice Evra saw him banned for eight matches.

Suarez has so far scored 44 goals in 88 matches for the Reds, winning the English League Cup and making an FA Cup Final appearance.

    D,

As a Liverpool supporter, I hope so. However, this is the second time this rumor has made the rounds, and you know the saying – there is no smoke without fire. Suarez has undoubtedly been performing at a level above the rest of the Liverpool squad this season, and after 2.5 seasons with us, I could understand growing agitated at the fact that all he has to show for it is the League Cup. As well, we have seen in recent years the resurgence of Juventus, and well, who wouldn’t want to play for Conte as things stand?

I’m not saying he will definitely leave, but given Juve’s need for a creative striker to compliment the “battering ram” forwards they currently employ, Suarez would be absolutely brilliant for them. Don’t be shocked if this is one of the main transfer sagas of the summer.
