Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri was pleased to escape the Olimpico with a point as the Azzurri found a late equalizer in their 1-1 draw with Lazio on Saturday night.

The Azzurri were looking to respond to Juve’s win earlier in the day, but failed to get the three points though Mazzarri admitted it is never easy playing away at Lazio.

“The draw against Lazio gives us an important point,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport.

“It is not easy to get a result here, so I must compliment Petkovic’s side. In the first half Lazio did well to pressure us, it was not easy to draw a match like this.”

“First half performance due to Juve’s win? I don’t think so. Zuniga and Armero only arrived yesterday and the other national players played during the week. I think that the start of the match was a result of that.”

“Insigne did well when he came on, he got right into the match. Even El Kaddouri showed himself and everyone had a part in earning this draw.”

“Four strikers at the end like Mourinho? I’ve done in the past as I don’t care about comparisons. Today my choices during the match paid off. Change of tactics? I don’t think it is needed, we have been playing like this for awhile and it has been an advantage to us.”

“Foul on Mesto? This is what they told me, the referee probably made a mistake in his analysis. Mesto didn’t simulate, it was a penalty.”

“Campagnaro’s goal? He pulled out a real jewel. He rarely scores spectacular goals in training.”
