Inter striker Diego Milito released a statement thanking everyone for their well wishes after the Argentine suffered a season-ending injury on Thursday night.
The 33-year-old suffered ligament damage to his knee during Inter’s Europe League match against Cluj, ruling him out for the season but the striker is eager to get back as soon as possible.
“From my heart, I’d like to thank everyone that has sent me their best wishes and affection since last night,” he said on his official Facebook page.
“I want to thank President Moratti, all my teammates and all of Inter.”
“I want to thank all my colleagues that have contacted me, Genoa, AC Milan, Fiorentina and all of the other clubs for their lovely words.”
“But most of all I want to thank the Nerazzurri fans that have made me very emotional in the last few hours.”
“All of this affection gives me an incredible desire and I will do everything possible to return to the field. A hug and and thank you from my heart.”
