Podcast: Vincenzo Bernardo (Ex-Napoli Primavera) Club Focus

This week Drew sits down with former Napoli Primavera player Vincenzo Bernardo to talk about his time with the club and life post-Napoli.

As a teenager growing up in America, Vincenzo was a rising star at both club and international levels and some felt he could emulate fellow New Jersey-native Giuseppe Rossi. With Italian heritage and dual USA and Italian citizenship, Vincenzo was able to live his dream of moving to Italy at 16 to join Napoli’s youth system.

In this exclusive interview, Vincenzo speaks about his time with the Neapolitans, the pressure he felt at an early age and why he was unable to secure a position with Napoli or another club in Italy. The two also touch on Vincenzo’s career after Napoli and what it is like to travel off the beaten path to play football.

Vincenzo’s story is different, but at the same time very much like other footballers trying to carve out their niche in the world of football, soccer or calcio.
