The pressure has continued to build on Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni in the past few weeks.

Inter lost 4-1 to Fiorentina last weekend and are preparing to play AC Milan in the Derby della Madoninna on Sunday night. However, before the derby, Inter will face Romanian side Cluj on Thursday in the Europa League.

Speaking at a recent press conference, Stramaccioni addressed questions regarding the Nerazzurri’s recent form.

“I think Inter have to take it one game at a time,” Stramaccioni said. “We played the first leg against Cluj with our best team and paid the price for that in our lack of energy against Fiorentina.”

The coach continued, “We won the first leg 2-0, but cannot go out there just to defend ourselves. We need a highly concentrated Inter performance. After that, then we will think about the Derby.”

At one time this season, Inter were an outside bet at winning the Scudetto following their November win against Juventus. However, since that game Inter have had up and down performances; including losing twice to relegation-threatened Siena.

The Nerazzurri have beaten Milan in the last three Milan derbies, but the Rossoneri are unbeaten in their last seven league games.

Stramaccioni’s job is said to be in doubt due to the club’s current form. Despite the speculation, Stramaccioni is a month away from being in the Inter hot-seat for a full year.
