Udinese triumphed 1-0 over Torino at the Stadio Friuli on Sunday afternoon in Serie A action.

Roberto Pereyra got the lone goal of the match in the seventh minute.

Antonio Di Natale got things going with the first opportunity of the match on two minutes, he connected with a volley from distance, but Jean-Francois Gillet saved. Not too long after, Giampiero Pinzi created a second long range shot, but he was also stopped by the goalkeeper.

The early pressure from the hosts eventually led to the first goal. Di Natale once again forced Gillet to make a low save with an effort from 20 metres, but the rebound fell right to Pereyra who tapped it in to give Udinese the 1-0 advantage.

Torino finally got a decent chance after 18 minutes. Alessio Cerci fired a cross into the penalty area and was met by the head of Riccardo Meggiorini, but it ended up over the bar.

The Bianconeri could’ve been 2-0 up just before the half-hour mark. Di Natale received a cross-field pass, it forced an error from both Kamil Glik and Gillet, almost resulting in Di Natale scoring, but the goalkeeper was able to recover and force the striker to fire wide.

A glorious attempt followed up 10 minutes before the halftime whistle. Some confusion in the box led to Maicosuel receiving a ball from Pereyra, but the Brazilian hit the post with the follow-up.

The second half was quiet until Cerci cracked the bar with his shot just before the hour point of the game, then Di Natale replied, but it was the same result as any of his previous attempts, a missed opportunity.

Jonathas could’ve made it 1-1 after a header, but his effort following a cross was deflected over a helpless Daniele Padelli.

Despite a spell of Torino possession in added time, the Zebrette held on and clinched the three points.
