With barely seconds remaining in Sunday evening’s game at the San Siro, referee Paolo Valeri awarded the hosts a penalty when Thomas Heurtaux challenged Stephan El Shaarawy.
Debutant Mario Ballotelli then converted the spot kick to ensure a 2-1 victory.
In response, on Monday Udinese displayed a still image of the challenge on their official TV channel for a full hour between 13:00 and 14:00 CET.
Earlier in the day Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo pulled no punches in his criticism of the match official, declaring Valeri to be inadequate for the task of refereeing Serie A matches.
“He is one of those two or three referees who are technically unsuitable for refereeing. I’ve said so before – Valeri lacks the balance to referee in Serie A.
“It’s always a lottery with him, and in that lottery we are always the losers. I still recall the incidents with Parma, Milan and the first match against Juventus.
“It was a disaster, he has no balance for fundamental decisions.
“He has given another gift to the opposing team, crucial to the outcome of the match.”
