The second day of Section A action saw Juventus and Inter make their way into the next round of the Viareggio Cup 2013.

Bianconeri striker Eric Lanini bagged another two goals taking his tally for the tournament up to five as Avellino were dispatched 2-1.

Inter joined their rivals in the next round with a 1-0 win over Virtus Entella.

Torino continued their goalscoring form by hitting another five against Citta di Marino, with Barbosa Willyan Da Silva bagging a brace in the process. Though they are not certain of qualifying for the next round.

Esposito was sent off for Marino in the final moments of the first half which inevitably made Torino’s job much easier.

Sampdoria had a tough match against Varese, twice going ahead then being pegged back by there opponents. Though the match was brought to life when Gregorio Luperini scored a wonderful goal to light up the match and spring it into life, similar to something you would see Alessandro Del Piero come up with.

Genoa redeemed themselves, following a defeat to Croatians Rijeka in their first match, with a 2-1 win over Parma. Jara Martinez’s precise shot into the far corner gave the Ligurians the lead, then got his double on the half hour. The performance of 16 year old Emilia Alberto Cerri was also of note.

However, that win leaves Group 5 wide open with Genoa, Parma, Rijeka and Santos Laguna all on one win each.

Norwegians Honefoss had more misery heaped upon their tournament with 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Deportes Concepcion.

Despite their draw with the Representatives of Serie D, Reggina look well placed to qualify from Group 6 after Anderlecht were defeated by Norte America.
