The agent of Ascoli striker Simone Zaza has dismissed speculation that his client has held talks with AC Milan after recent reports linking the player with a move to the Italian giants.

The forward is currently on loan at Ascoli from Sampdoria and has been garnering interest from possible suitors given that his contract is set to expire in 2014.

Despite his future being up in the air, the player’s agent has poured cold water on reports that he has held talks with the Rossoneri.

“Nobody from Milan has ever called me, so I can assure you that there is no meeting planned,” Christian Maifredi told reporters.

“I’ll meet with Sampdoria next week though as they have formulated a new offer with regards to an extension.”

“However, for now, the priority is for Simone to finish the season in the best way possible for Ascoli.”

Zaza is currently Serie B’s joint top marksman with 18 goals. It is believed Juventus are also tracking the 21-year-old striker.
