Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has announced that there will be no charge into AC Milan’s friendly on Friday night against Gennaro Gattuso and his  Sion side.

The former Rossoneri midfielder left Italy last summer, but will return to the San Siro on Friday with his new side.

The 2006 World Cup winner has taken up the role of player-coach for Sion, and has already featured in 22 games this season.

Gattuso became a fan favourite during his 13 year stint in Milan, and is sure to receive a warm reception on Friday.

“As we realised how many fans wanted to see the game, to salute Gattuso, we decided to have the game at the San Siro with free entry,” Galliani explained.

Milan will undoubtedly field a weakened side for the fixture, given that many of the team’s stars will be away on international duty.

Gattuso won several trophies while playing for the Rossoneri, including two Scudetto’s, two Champions League trophies, the Fifa Club World Cup along with the 2003 Coppa Italia.
