Insigne not thinking about the World Cup

Lorenzo Insigne has indicated he is not thinking about playing in the World Cup in 2014 until the current season is over.

The Napoli youngster is a valuable member to the Italy U21 side, but gained his first senior cap for Italy last September in the World Cup Qualifier Match against Malta, a game that saw the Azzurri prove triumphant with a 2-0 win.

“Lorenzo is one of the leaders of the U-21 side, A team which will be going for the European title in June,” said the Napoli star’s agent Antonio Ottaiano.

“It is obvious that all players dream about taking part in a World Cup, but, for now, Lorenzo is just concentrating on the Euro U-21 Championship and the end of this season with Napoli.”

Insigne, a product of Napoli’s youth development has played on loan for Cavese, Foggia and Pescara, In 2012 he earned the Serie B player of the year award.
