Parma beat Torino 4-1 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

A goal from Nicola Sansone and a hat-trick from Amauri saw them cancel out Mario Santana’s opener.

Parma could have scored inside the opening five minutes after Torino goalkeeper Jean-Francois Gillet was caught in possession by Jonathan Biabiany, though the Frenchman’s tackle ran behind for a goal-kick.

After a quarter of an hour Rolando Bianchi missed an incredible chance after he was clean through on goal having received a cross from the right, though his heavy touch took the ball right into the arms of Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante.

Amauri blazed a shot over from inside the six yard box a minute later, in an crazy few minutes. Torino looked a constant counter-attacking threat, and Mario Santana fired over the bar from a tight angle soon after.

With five minutes to go until half time Alessandro Lucarelli failed to convert a great chance from a corner, with Parma definitely in the ascendancy  Gillet made a great stop on an Amauri overhead kick, before the striker had a header cleared off the line from the ensuing corner.

Parma continued to create chances into the second half, making Torino’s opening goal all the more devastating. It came 10 minutes into the second half when a low cross from Valter Birsa was tapped in by Santana easily at the back post.

It was almost 2-0 immediately, when Bianchi tapped in a shot from Birsa which had deflected against the post – though his goal was ruled out for offside.

Torino should have scored a second when Bianchi was presented with an outstanding chance in front of goal again, though is first time shot on a low cross was miraculously saved by Mirante.

Eventually Parma equalised after creating more opportunities, when Amauri prodded in a Raffaele Palladino cross on the volley.

It gave the gialloblu some great momentum, and Sansone fired his side in front from the edge of the box.

The floodgates had well and truly opened, and with little over five minutes remaining, Amauri powered past three defenders and drove a shot into the corner for his brace, completing his hat-trick in stoppage time after a squared pass from Sansone, who had changed the game completely.
