Pescara have parted company with coach Cristiano Bergodi in the wake of their 1-0 defeat at home against Udinese this afternoon.

That result today, courtesy of Antonio Di Natale’s 150th Serie A strike, left the Delfini level on points with bottom club Palermo.

In a statement released by the club, they have said: “We at Pescara would like to thank Cristiano for all of the effort and passion he has brought to the club.

“The club will announce his successor in the next 24 hours.”

Despite rumours that Zdenek Zeman would be set to retake the reigns at the Adriatico, he cannot do so as he has already coached one Serie A club this season.

It is widely believed that Primavera coach Cristian Bucchi will take over on a short-term deal until the end of the current campaign.

Bergodi is the 11th coach in the league to be sacked this season.
