Rossi: “Sampdoria victory dedicated to president”

Sampdoria coach Delio Rossi admits his side struggled to attack in the first half, but was happy with their second half bounce back as they defeated Parma 1-0 on Sunday.

The win was a special one as Rossi dedicated the victory to new president Edoardo Garrone, who has officially taken the position after the death of his father of Riccardo Garrone.

“In the first half Parma were superior,” he told Sky Sport.

“We weren’t able to close down their play in the midfield. In the second half we took the field with another mindset.”

“My players did well and they deserve to be complimented.”

“Today’s victory is dedicated to our president, Edoardo Garrone, who just joined us in that position.”
