Roma captain and club legend Francesco Totti broke a longstanding record this week against Parma as he became the outright second highest goalscorer in Serie A… Ever! Totti bagged a sumptuous freekick to to round off an impressive performance that has the capital club back in contention for European football.
Mario Balotelli continued his impressive form for AC Milan by grabbing a brace in their 2-0 win over Palermo at the San Siro. However there was a moment of controversy when Cristian Zapata appeared to deliberately handle the ball, which stopped Palermo breaking through on goal, though he was not sent off.
Napoli got back to winning ways against Atalanta, as Edinson Cavani also brought an end to his goalscoring drought with a brace against La Dea. Goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis was once more in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Elsewhere, Juventus continued their winning form with an easy victory over Bologna in a match that was more controversial for events off the field. Fiorentina managed a 3-2 win over relegation threatened Genoa, and Lazio were defeated by Torino in another match with a controversial refereeing incident.
