Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is satisfied with his team’s Champions League performance against Juventus, but believes that at least one more goal is needed to ensure their qualification through to the next round.

The Bundesliga squad were victorious over the Bianconeri in their first leg quarter-final match up in Germany, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Bavarians.

Schweinsteiger spoke to UEFA.com about the result and admitted that he recognises the challenge that lies ahead in Turin.

“It is a good result, because Juve played a very interesting formation which we don’t face in the Bundesliga at all,” said the German international.

“I think we did well with that and my feeling is telling me that we scored one goal too few. But it’s good that we did not concede, that was very important.”

“You know it will not be easy in Turin, in front of their own fans. They will put in a quite different performance.”

“We are in a very good position now, but have not achieved anything so far. We need to score a goal there, then we should be through.”

This is the first defeat Juve have suffered in the Champions League this season.

The two clubs will face off again on April 10 at the Juventus Stadium.
