Cagliari are set to leave the Stadio Is Arenas for the remainder of the season.

The Rossoblu have been in dispute with the local council all season regarding the safety of the ground and have now decided the time is right to leave the arena altogether.

Each week Cagliari have had to apply for a safety certificate for the Is Arenas and on occasions have had it refused, depending on their opponent.

Now the Sardinian side have written to inform the council they will not be using the Is Arenas for the rest of the season.

The situation regarding the remaining Serie A fixtures is up in the air, with reports suggesting a return to the Stadio Nereo Rocco in Trieste, though it does need work before a league game could be played there.
