Chievo owner Luca Campedelli has played down talks that striker Cyril Thereau is set to leave the Flying Donkeys for Lazio in the summer.

The Frenchman has openly stated his desire to leave the Verona based club in the offseason, with a move to Lazio and Fiorentina being the two most talked about destinations.

Despite the reports, Campedelli has denied holding talks over the player while stating that it is too early to speculate over his future.

“In all honesty, this interest has come from the sky as the last time I spoke to Lotito was on January 29,”  he told reporters.

“It was to understand Bizzarri’s situation, and since then I have not spoken to the president and I don’t think he has spoken to Sartori or he would have told me.”

“Anyways, it is too early to talk about the transfer market.”

“Who would I take from Lazio? Kozak, right away. I think he is the best player in terms of potential but I don’t think Lotito will let him go as he is in love with him in a footballing sense.”

“Every time I call him I ask about him, but before I even finish talking he says no.”
