Inter turned down the opportunity to sign Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy during the January transfer window it has been revealed today.

The Frenchman left Marseille to join relegation-threatened QPR after spurning the chance himself to become part of Newcastle’s French revolution.

Before joining the London outfit, Marseille had offered him on loan to the Nerazzurri during the mercato but they refused to take the Ligue 1 club up on the deal, Calciomercato report.

The 26-year-old was subsequently sold for €10.5m and scored in the club’s Monday night loss against Fulham.

Given how things have progressed for the Beneamata with the injury to Diego Milito and the failure to sign John Carew, it may have been a deal they do now regret.
