Inter forward Tommaso Rocchi is the latest in a line of club representatives to level criticism against referee Andrea Gervasoni.

The Nerazzurri were defeated by Atalanta 4-3 over the weekend, but in the wake of the loss several of the team’s staff have come out in defiance of the refereeing performance.

Rocchi is the most recent to publicly, following in the footsteps of president Massimo Moratti, coach Andrea Stramaccioni, and captain Javier Zanetti.

“There is no doubt that we were penalized,” Rocchi said to reporters. “There are incidences that have not gone the right way.

“I know that the job of a referee is difficult, but the communication between the referee and his assistants needs to improve.

“The incidences on Sunday were impossible not to see in my opinion.”
