The former head of Catania and Palermo Pietro Lo Monaco has rebutted Inter president Massimo Moratti’s claims that there is a refereeing conspiracy against his club.

Moratti blasted the officials following his side’s 4-3 defeat against Atalanta last weekend but Lo Monaco believes that he is only trying to cover up the fact that his side are not playing at the level expected of them at the moment.

He told Sky Sports: “We can say that Inter have suffered some wrong decisions but I do not believe in bad faith from the officials.

“We cannot believe in these things, there is no bias and these are just phrases that we pull out when things are not going the right way for us.”

The Nerazzurri currently sit eight points behind AC Milan in their bid for Champions League football.
