Sampdoria and Genoa have been ruled out of the race to sign Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic, according to his agent.
The Slovenian scored at the Marassi this past weekend with a wonderful slaloming run against the Blucerchiati to give his side hope in their bid for survival.
Agent Ruznic Amir told stadionews.it: “Are Sampdoria in the future of Ilicic? No, I can rule that out.
“Ilicic will not go to Genoa as regards to both Sampdoria and Genoa.”
Amir also believes that the midfielder is now playing much better at the Renzo Barbera since the departure of Javier Pastore.
“Ilicic did really well against Catania and Udinese but it is really his best that he is showing now.
“He is most definitely at his best when playing without [Javier] Pastore.”
