Performance means little without victory for Catania keeper

Catania keeper Alberto Frison was disappointed to lose to AC Milan on Sunday night, despite performing admirably in his first Serie A start for the Rossazzurri.

Deputising for the suspended Mariano Andujar, the 24-year-old had kept the Rossoneri at bay for most of the match before a Giampaolo Pazzini brace gave the Rossoneri the lead.

Frison conceded that the win would have been huge for Rolando Maran’s side and was disappointed he failed to do better with the shot that led to the winning goal.

“I am happy for my debut, but not for the result,” Frison told Sky Sports.

“I’m sorry for the team. I was unable to deflect Balotelli’s shot away from our goal. It is a shame because we played well and could have got a big win.”

“I was calm, I felt the confidence of all [my team-mates], and I am quite satisfied with my performance, despite the result.”

“I made several saves on Balotelli. Unfortunately, I could not stop them all.”
