Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has claimed there was a “misunderstanding” between the Giallorossi and former coach Zdenek Zeman.

The Bosnian international and the rest of the Roman outfit struggled under the direction of Czech tactician in the first half of the Serie A season.

As a result he was sacked in February, with Aurelio Andreazzoli brought in as interim coach until the end of the season.

Pjanic commented on the team’s success under Andreazzoli and on their upcoming match against eternal rival S.S. Lazio in the Coppa Italia final.

“I believe a lot in this Roma team,” he told reporters this afternoon. “I have had a great time here, right from the beginning.

“This year we had some problems. With Zeman maybe there was some misunderstanding but since Andreazzoli joined, he has given the group a lot of confidence.”

“Obviously we want to win the cup, even if the coach has told us to remain focused on the last five league games.”

“It will be an important match against Lazio and we want to do well.”

The Coppa Italia final will take place on May 26 at the Stadio Olympico with Roma listed as the home team.
